Color Management

Good color managment involves many different elements. This section provides you the tools to understand and manage color for your studio.

Calibration

Color management begins with calibration. This page shows you how to calibrate both your camera meter and your monitor. By ensuring an accurate capture and viewing environment for images, we cross off two major obsticles to getting good color.

Color Management Settings

Each image editing application handles profiles differently. You will learn how to make the appropriate settings in each common application for output at H&H.

Soft Proofing

Some colors don't reproduce exactly as seen on a monitor, even when it is properly calibrated. Certain shades of red, orange, blue and purple are the common culprits. When dealing with these colors, using a soft proof profile will help achieve predictable results.
